Restonic South Africa is a member of KAP Integrated Bedding, a JSE-listed diversified industrial group consisting of industrial, chemical and logistics businesses. Established in 1938, Restonic is now a leader in manufacturing quality mattresses in Africa.

Restonic is experiencing considerable expansion across its business and needed to upgrade its ERP solution to keep pace with that growth.

A long-term SYSPRO user, Restonic opted to upgrade to SYSPRO 8 to take advantage of the new features it offers.

Optimizing opportunities to digitalize the business

Restonic was seeking opportunities to further digitalize its business and improve overall operational efficiency. Morag Herman, Restonic’s IT Manager, says: “Our business consists of seven different companies across the manufacturing and recycling sectors, and it is growing. We needed to upgrade our ERP solution to meet those requirements.”

After running SYSPRO for 10 years, Restonic’s management team queried the feasibility of moving to a competitive product. However, after attending the launch of SYSPRO 8 and seeing the ease of use and ability to consolidate onto a single platform, the decision was made to upgrade to the new version.

“We adopted a phased-in approach to allow our staff to complete training and be comfortable with the solution’s new capabilities,” Herman says.

In addition, the agility and scalability delivered by SYSPRO 8 have enabled Restonic to consolidate its business requirements on a single platform. Multiple sites, including the company’s Namibia-based office data, have been incorporated on the same platform.
